Empowering Smallholder Farmers
Over the years, Nalmaco has worked with over 10,000 smallholder farmers, providing them with the tools, resources, and training needed to improve their productivity and income. Through our out-grower program, farmers gain access to certified seeds, fertilizers, and mechanization services, resulting in higher yields and better market access. Many farmers who started with small-scale operations have now expanded their farms and improved their quality of life.
Supporting Women in Agriculture
At Nalmaco, we believe in the power of women in agriculture. Nearly 45% of the farmers we work with are women, and we have provided them with targeted support, training, and financial inclusion. In addition, our women grain sorters, who work daily to clean and prepare grains for processing, play a vital role in our value chain. Through their hard work and dedication, they not only support their families but also contribute to the economic development of their communities.
Contributing to Food Security
Nalmaco’s efforts have had a direct impact on food security in Nigeria. By working closely with farmers to improve grain production and quality, we ensure a steady supply of high-quality grains to local and international markets. Our partnerships with leading food companies such as Nestle and Cadbury are a testament to our commitment to delivering excellence while ensuring that farmers benefit from fair pricing and sustainable farming practices.
Building Sustainable Farming Practices
Sustainability is at the heart of Nalmaco’s operations. Through our partnership with programs like the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Anchor Borrower’s Programme and NIRSAL’s Credit Risk Guarantee, we promote sustainable farming practices that protect the environment and improve crop yields. By adopting environmentally friendly techniques, we help farmers reduce their carbon footprint while maintaining high levels of productivity.
